Chronology: MD: School of Medicine, Peking University, 1969; Physician: Xian Railway Central Hospital, 1970-80; Attending Nephrologist: Xian Railway Central Hospital, 1981-9; Visiting Scholar: University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, 1989-91; Post-Doctoral Research Associate: University of North Carolina, 1991-5; Research Associate: University of North Carolina, 1995-2001; Assistant Professor: University of North Carolina, 2001-2011; Associate Professor: University of North Carolina, 2011-present.

Dr. Yang's research focuses on the pathogenesis of ANCA associated glomerulophritis and vasculitis. She investigates changes of gene expression levels in leukocytes of patients with ANCA-disease and epigenetic basis for these aberrant regulation. She also studies the leukocyte activation, T-cell proliferated and vascular endothelial injury.
