The CVA will provide a complete range of service for total dialysis access care.

The UNC Kidney Center is happy to announce the successful opening of the Carolina Vascular Access Center (CVA) on July 2, 2012. The staff of Carolina Vascular Access joins our interventional nephrologists, Dr. Julie McGregor and Dr. Jeffrey Hoggard, in their commitment to provide efficient, patient-friendly services in a supportive and comfortable environment.

A complete range of services for total dialysis access care are provided by CVA—from dialysis catheter placement, exchange and removal to vein mapping, arteriovenous graft and fistula angioplasty and thrombectomies (de-clots). A full description of the services provided by CVA has been distributed to UNC and local physicians, along with the procedure for referring patients to CVA.

The Carolina Vascular Access Center was established with a commitment to keeping patient care at the forefront. Our goal is to insure that interactions between CVA, patients, and referring physicians are productive, supportive and pleasurable. Virginia Hamilton, the Center Manager, is available to answer questions and address any concerns should they arise, and she is dedicated to making CVA an excellent community resource for patients and physicians.

The Carolina Vascular Access Center is located at 2214 Nelson Highway, where US Hwy 54 and I-40 meet. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. To contact CVA, please call 919-908-6080.

We are excited and eager to serve our patients and their physicians with state-of-the-art vascular access care.
