The Star Heel Awards Program is administered by Benefits Services in the Office of Human Resources at UNC and is sponsored by TIAA-CREF and presents the award to one person in each division and department at the university every year to recognize and reward excellent employees.
Jean Brown, an IT Specialist for the UNC Kidney Center, recently received the Star Heel Award for the Department of Medicine. She has over 25 years of state service, all 25 within Nephrology.
UNC Kidney Center Administrator Trina Pugh nominated Ms. Brown for this year’s award, naming her dedication to her work and outstanding attention to detail.
“Jean’s skills and expertise are at an irreplaceable level. Her quiet demeanor brings little attention but her work screams excellence and professionalism. No matter what stage a task is in when it comes to her attention, she will apply her “special touch” and deliver results that far exceed the expectations. We are very fortunate to have her as part of our team,” said Pugh.
