Dr. Amy Mottl, Professor of Medicine in the UNC Division of Nephrology and Hypertension, will represent the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) on a panel focused on a large kidney-cardiovascular clinical trial currently being planned by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The initiative is being developed through the Diabetes Mellitus Interagency Coordinating Committee (DMICC) and will focus on important connections between type 1 diabetes, kidney health, and cardiovascular outcomes. As a panelist representing ASN, Dr. Mottl will provide a nephrology perspective and contribute to discussions surrounding the development of this potentially practice-changing clinical trial
