About

Ms. Poulton is the Research Program Director for the UNC Kidney Center. She earned her Master of Social Work degree with a macro concentration in broad based community services from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has over 15 years of research experience, particularly in observational research, data management, research ethics and regulatory affairs. She is the lead coordinator for the UNC branch of the Cure Glomerulonephropathy (CureGN) network, overseeing eight sites within the National Institutes of Health-funded international consortium. She previously was policy liaison for the Kidney Education Outreach Program and conducted qualitative research investigating knowledge of kidney disease in rural North Carolina and barriers to home renal replacement modalities. In her role as research manager for the Glomerular Disease Collaborative Network she acted as data custodian, provided regulatory guidance, created educational materials for registry participants, and assisted with a wide variety of translational, observational, and cohort studies.
