The mission of World Kidney Day is to raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys to our overall health and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide.

The founders of World Kidney Day, International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and the International Federation of Kidney Foundations (IFKF), are promoting a campaign in 2013 to promote preventive behaviours, encourage early screening of people with diabetes and hypertension, and stimulate positive thinking about organ donation and transplantation.

Visit the World Kidney Day web site to learn more about how you can get involved.
