UNC Kidney Center faculty will be well represented at the 2011 annual meeting of the American Society of Nephrology (ASN).
Speakers at the annual meeting from the UNC Kidney Center include transplant nephrologist Randal Detwiler, pediatric nephrologist Maria Ferris, fellowship coordinator Gerald Hladik, renal pathologist J. Charles Jennette, nephrologist Patrick Nachman, researcher Gloria Preston, transplant nephrologist Karin True.
The meeting will take place in Philadelphia, PA from November 8 through November 13, “Kidney Week”. According to the ASN web site, the meeting will draw over 13,000 kidney professionals internationally.
UNC Kidney Center Director Ron Falk will also become ASN’s president for its 2011-2012 cycle. Dr. Falk has served in a number of various capacities for the American Society of Nephrology, including on the Annual Meeting Program, Training Program, Post-Graduate Education, and Nomination Committees.
